What time do the shorts start before Starship Troopers?

Advertised showtime is 8ET/7CT.  So will everything shorts included start at 7 or does that mean the feature at 7?  Reason being the last Manos live's advertised time made me miss the shorts and I was very sad.  So should we get to the theater 30 minutes before scheduled time?

Where are you?  The entire Manos show started at the advertised time for us. Shorts and all. I am east coast and get it live. Mountain and Pacific get tape delay.

I'm in Arizona and I never miss the shorts.  The complete show always starts almost precisely at the advertised time.

Same. Usually right at 7 the lights go down and then there's advertisements for upcoming Fathom events and then the RT:Live! show, including shorts.  20-30 minutes before 7 the "trivia show" slides start.

I'm in the tape delay zone. Last time the theater I was in didn't play the pre-show title cards. Different theater this time--I hope they do.

I only made it about 10 minutes early for the last two, and ended up kicking myself for missing the preshow slides.  I'm on the east coast where it starts at 8, and I suggested to my friend we meet for dinner at 6 (5 mins from the theater) assuming he'd think I'm ridiculous for meeting so early.  His response:  "We should probably do 5:45".  Good to have friends as anal about Rifftrax as me

We got there around 7:30 for an 8:00 show. The pre-show slides didn't start until 7:45 so we only got to see about 5 minutes of them and the kickstarter credits before the commercials began. Very disappointed. We got there early because Mike said to on Facebook to be there around 7:30 for the slides and we just sat there for 15 minutes with nothing. Did we miss the slides, or was that the way it was shown? We watched it at the Cineplex in the Westfield Shopping Plaza (Formerly the Garden State Plaza) in Paramus, New Jersey.

Sounds like your theater had a problem, we got them at about 7:30.

Our theater was really behind schedule, we were outside waiting for the room to be cleaned for awhile before realizing they hadn't even started yet.  They went in at 6:35 and cleaned as fast as they could.  We missed all the pre-show slides and I was getting ready to leave and complain when I heard the "Welcome to the Belcourt Theater" announcement before the picture came on.  Luckily the picture did start just in time to see the guys take the stage.
