My 'take' and free preview Now Posted

Gammer is da Pharty Poopah!

Be sure and leave your comments on my page on why you disagree.

Also, don't forget that I loved Aeon Flux and you didn't like it. To each his own, right?

lol dude, chill, I was just throwing in another bad arnie impersonation.  It's cool you didn't enjoy it, the comment about DA not living up to the potential of the situation is a fair one.

It's nod a TUMA!

Uh oh, guess gammer doesn't want us to do anymore Star Wars episodes, either. Damn!

Don't forget since the start of the new year we've had DD, BE, ST6, Aeon Flux and T3. Thats 5 Sci Fi compared to 3 non sci fi (Troll 2, OTT, Wicker Man)

And Reign of Fire was also a Sci Fi and the last one released in '06 by RiffTrax.

The numbers don't lie

I suppose if you use a very loose definition of sci-fi, it might appear to be the case.  I think that the primary genre of T3 is generally considered action, daredevil would be an action, or super hero, if that's its own genre these days.  And Reign of Fire sort of defies categorization.  BE and Star Trek are the two that stand out as being straight up Sci Fi.

The masses are clearly crying for more Chick Flicks. Conor, time to break out the Meg Ryan stocks you've been hording.

Honestly, I would still purchase all your RiffTrax if all you ever released was SciFi.
What can I say? I'm addicted to rifftrax.

This further drives home my point of 'to each his own'. I guess what I consider to be science fiction, is not science fiction to other people. I apologize for just stating "I"m tired of Sci Fi". I should have clarified that better.

Anyway, you guys are doing a great job...keep up the good work.

...and I should have something new on my web page today that will help promote my page and (to a smaller degree) promote RiffTrax.

In all seriousness, this raises a point.

My wife (who is not an MST fan) did watch Crossroads with me and Top Gun. She hasn't watched any since then, and its because she doesn't care for the movies being riffed.
Just the other day she asked me: "When are they going to do another bad chick movie?  'Cause I'd watch another one with you if they ever did one like Crossroads again".

Now this might be a stab in the dark, but I'm sure there are some fans who feel the same way.

sarcasm_made_Easy

as weird as this seems (escpecially after just posting in the fight club thread about machoism) i too would like more chick flicks.  I think ive been scified out as of late.

MSTJedi

I liked the movie before the Rifftrax and I must say that I love it with the added greatness of Mike and Kevin. That said,  I'd rather them keep going with the sci-fi and action movies because that's just my preference in movies. While I thought Crossroads was funny, I didn't find it nearly as funny as T3, The Matrix, or LotR because I enjoy those movies (or at least the genre) aside from the Rifftrax. I can't stand Crossroads because chick flicks annoy the crap out of me rather than entertain. It's a personal opinion, sure, but there it is.

I've been thinking about it and I figured out why I could take the really bad movies when MST3K did them and why they just aren't as fun as Rifftrax. It's because without the skits breaking up the crappiness, I get overloaded and the riffing just isn't as fun. I love Rifftrax, but for my own enjoyment, it has its limitations. While the chick flicks may do it for some people, I'll wait around until they do Mission Impossible or another Star Wars movie.

This was a fun riff. Arnold, unfortunatly, begs to be horribly impersonated. I find it amusing that no matter how bad the impersonation is, you always know it's Arnold. Whoever they have doing it on Conan O'Brien slays me everytime.

Anyhow, Terminator is one of my favorite series of all time. I'm happy they finally did something close to 'home' here. Yeah, not the best of the 3 flicks, but still worth it in my opinion. Good job, guys!!!

And for the love of cheese, please don't do chick flicks. Egads, what are you thinking, people???!! Do a western or something.

sarcasm_made_Easy

you didnt like crossraods tyrant? i thought it was great.  SO was cocktail now that i am thinking about it.  But i agree a western sounds cool. I  Just want some variety.

Well, if this board is to know anything about me, it needs to know that I do not like chick flicks. As Pak will attest, I'm not a very typical lady and I tend not to like what most women like. And chick flicks bore the snot out of me. Give me a good action/sci-fi flick anyday.

This said, the riffing was the only thing that stopped me from throwing a brick at our TV during Crossroads. I was too busy laughing to get too terribly pissed off about the plot/acting (or lack thereof) and what not. Plus I really don't like Spears. I can't believe she thought she could act.

So, anyhow, yeah. Variety. Westerns can be cool. Even a documentary mayhaps.

My wife feels the same way about chick flicks; she can't stand them...hates 'em with a passion.
However, this is the reason why she loves to listen to Mike rip them a new 'one'. And its probably the same reason why she likes to see Tom Cruise movies get riffed to shreds; she can't stand him either.

yeah but WHAT documentary?  there are only two that i think would work.

march of the penguins  or
an inconvient truth.

March Of The Penguins bored the hell out of me, and I LOVE penguins. It didn't help that it came out in the summer, when the movie theater's air-conditioned to Antarctic temperatures. Coldest movie ever.

Maybe this would be more up your alley then, Sharky:
