I thought this film was owned by Universal? Rifftrax Video-On-Demand titles are usually public domain. Did they make a deal with the studio like they did during the days of MST3K, or is this film so bad that it has since slipped into the public domain?

The idea is they've probably been able to make a deal with the copyright holder to distribute the film because the film isn't likely to sell well with a mainstream release. (Cool as Ice right now as only available on Amazon and even then as a "burn it for you on demand" title.)  The previous two titles are likely the same deal (Mc Bain and When a Stranger Calls Back) both movies that still have copyrights on them but aren't likely to see the light of day in a mainstream release.  So the studios will take what they can get on distributions.

This route obviously opens a lot of doors for Rifftrax.

The door to hell, I hope:

Aw, I thought this was going to be The Gate.  I'd watch the shit out of that riff.
I have convinced Hor-Riff-ic Productions to riff it eventually. But it'll be a while before they get to it.

If that's the case, maybe they'll be able to riff the John Travolta romantic drama MOMENT BY MOMENT. I heard MST3K hoped to get it. I'm trying to think of films that have never been released to DVD before.

Oh, Jesez, yes! This is number one on my list of films to riff.

Does it feature him dancing in upsetting shorts?

I would love a riff of that!

Spoiler

I don't remember this moment from Moment to Moment. Perhaps I blacked out. I don't remember him wearing upsetting shorts but he does get busy with Lily Tomlin and his character's name is Strip. What more do you need to know?
