The Vanilla Ice movie?! Really! Holy cow!  So what's going on with Rifftrax? Do they just have some special deal going when it comes to releasing these movies that're presumably not yet PD, or are these movies just PD already due to them just being so crappy the copyright holders didn't care to let them slip?   If they are not PD, I'm guessing the copyright holders don't care about Legend/Rifftrax releasing them in this manner so long as they get some minor residuals.

I suspect they are paying license fees for movies where the license fee is fairly small (Like Cinematic Titanic does) and since their VODs do so well, it seems like a good idea.

If licensing the titles give them better A/V quality then I am all for it! That is one thing that makes it hard for me to deal with a lot of the VODs is the terrible, terrible picture quality. Here is hoping that the audio for this one will match up with the 720p german version that I am downloading right now!

Most of the more recent VODs have had decent enough video quality, but there were a few that were terrible. I still haven't been able to make it through Sons of Hercules due to it looking so bad on a 50" screen. Gonna have to watch it on my phone some time.

I agree that the last few have been fine. There are some real dogs in the older ones though.

After a series of intense negotiations, Rifftrax managed to purchase the rights to Vanilla Ice himself and it only cost 5 bucks and some autographed pictures of Kevin wearing the stockings from the 2006 Christmas video.

So how soon are we likely to see this? Valentine's Day is a bummer of a day for me and I was planning on getting drunk today but didn't specifically so I could get this Rifftrax.  What do they do today? A VDay discount on the Twilight movies. :blech:  Sometimes we get movies on Fridays so... tomorrow?  Maybe.
