I own the original and remake, but have never seen this one before Rifftrax. It's actually not that bad, though the opening sequence does drag, but to some that's probably part of the horror.

I actually found the sequences inside the home much more "intense" and thrilling than the stuff we got when the movie advanced a few years.  I guess to get the other characters in it (including the ones from the previous movie) something had to happen. We couldn't just have this girl checking on the door every five minutes.  But those moments were a lot more chilling than what came after.

My brother felt the suspense started to hinder when the killer actually showed up. I think he was under the impression there was no killer, and the girl was just going nuts.

Did you see those hairstyles and clothing choices? Obviously she was nuts.

I think so. The movie loses steam in the last 15-20 minutes or so but overall it's a good, solid, funny riffing.

I don't understand.  The movie is clearly called "When A Stranger Calls" and was remade under that name in 2006.  Why did Rifftrax add "back" to the end of it?

But all the posters omit the "Back", and there's this

Your link is to the original, not the sequel that the guys riffed. Which posters omit the back?

Ok.  I guess I got confused.  So this is the 1993 sequel, as in this thing?

I couldn't seem to find a poster for this on MoviePosterDB, which is odd, because they have posters for, like EVERYTHING over there, but not this...  So I jumped to the conclusion that the guys renamed the movie in the riff, which has happened before here and on MST3K.

No worries - it's probably because this was a TV movie.
