i thought king kong was better than umm king kong.  :)

the best remake ever?  LOTR  period
naw, my Remakes professor (yes I once took a class about film remakes lol) told us to use popularity as a barometer in classifying a film adaptation of a book. Lord of the Rings is a more popular book than the "old" LOTR movies therefore it is not a remake. Same goes for any book that continually gets remade (ie; Shakespear), its likely because of the book and not the earlier adaptations.

4) This movie lures us in with false promises of Scarlett Johansson's breasts, and then does a vicious bait-&-switch, leaving us with nothing more than crappy PG-13 sex (I hate PG-13 sex SO MUCH).

That sir, is a crime against humanity.  They should have paid attention to her "sex" scenes in "Match Point".   Now THAT is how you film a non-R sex scene!

I really liked Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  I enjoy the original as well but I thought Johnny Depp was hilarious.

Agree'd. I can see how some people were disturbed with the pseudo Michael Jackson impression they got from Depp's character from this. But it didn't bother me, and I thought he did a great job.

Melvis

I have ants in the pants over the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween.

And the best remake was Cape Fear

Minnesota

I actually prefer the original cape fear, the remake had a nice aproach though

I read somewhere that he had used some of Marilyn Manson's persona as inspiration for the role.  I enjoy his music and I think that Manson and Burton would go hand in hand.  And as it turned out I was right.
