I wasn't sure whether to post this in "Technical Support" or "Purchase/Download Issues" since it's technically both.  I had been seeking help at the end of another thread and I got some good suggestions, but the problem is still persisting, so I thought I would start its own thread.  I emailed most of this to Customer Support too, but I thought perhaps others might have experienced this and figured out how to solve it.  I know it's a little lengthy, but I've tried many, many different things to try to solve this.

Originally, I had three VOD's that were causing problems: The Devil's Hand, Buffalo Rider, and Abraxis. The problem is they'll be playing fine, and then around the 40 minute mark, give or take, they'll freeze, then skip ahead a few minutes, freeze again, skip ahead some more, and in some cases I've lost over 20 minutes of movie! You can hear the player laboring trying to read the disk, and forget about trying to rewind/fast forward, it won't do it. Around the time I originally downloaded these, I downloaded five others which played fine, and I've watched other DVDs since with no problem.

I'm using Download Accelerator Plus to help with the download, and then to burn it to DVD, I'm using ImgBurn. I tried redownloading "The Devil's Hand" on my computer and start from scratch, but same thing, around the 40 minute mark it all starts again. I then tried it in my Xbox360 thinking that perhaps there was a problem with my Blu Ray/DVD player, but on the Xbox360, at the same time the problem starts I got an error message saying it was trying to read the media.

I thought perhaps maybe it was a problem with my desktop, so I downloaded DAP and ImgBurn to my laptop, and downloaded "The Devil's Hand" from scratch and tried it again. When I went to watch it, fingers crossed, it actually got a little bit further, but then it started again: first with the labored sounds of the machine trying to read the disk, then the freezing, skipping, freezing, etc.

I then switched to downloading the MPEG4 and transferred those to DVD, and those play fine, minus some of the functions like chapters, and the fact that it will only play on certain players.  Over the Black Friday weekend I downloaded 18 VOD's.  After a few days I finally got them all downloaded, and just started burning the ISO image to DVD.  The first one, Guy from Harlem played perfectly.  Great I thought!  Then last night I burned the Tourist Trap ISO to DVD and around the 60 minute mark, the grinding/whirring sound started, and then it froze completely.

So what could it possibly be? Rifftrax has new servers (they were still on the old ones when I first downloaded the last batch), I've tried on two different computers, I'm using the DAP to help with downloads, and ImgBurn to burn to disk, and have tried several times.  I also uninstalled/reinstalled DAP, as well as tried several other download managers.  And instead of IMGBurn which wasn't working, I'm currently using Roxio.  Could it be the disks I'm using? I'm using Sony DVD-R 120min/4.7GB disks, and I've never had problems with them in the past and they work with the first VODs I downloaded.

I'm thinking I'm just going to have to re-download all 18 of them again as MPEG4s and transfer those to DVD.  I'd really like to get the ISO files to work, but it's incredibly frustrating to be watching a movie only to have it freeze and then you have to redownload and try again.  I've burned through about 20 DVD's trying to get this all to work trying different programs, computers, etc.  Obviously not everyone is having this problem, but having tried different computers and programs, I don't think it's on my end either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
