Fuzzy Necromancer

Somebody who enjoyed this film told me it was supposed to be a scifi comedy.

Does anybody know which parts where "scifi" and which ones were "comedy"?
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

Well, the style of comedy involved is certainly indicative of Besson's sense of humor - you can see similar "comedic" characters in his other films.  There's a movie called The Big Blue starring Rosanna Arquette and Jean Reno, where Reno has a similar type role to that of Chris Tucker's in Fifth Element.  It's just that Reno is very good, while Tucker is ear-piercingly annoying.

Chalk it up to Luc Besson being French. Their humor does not seem to translate well.

I have always counted this movie among my favorites although I do admit to being very easily amused.

I will also admit to having a deep fondness for this movie, though I had no problem watching it with Mike ripping it to shreds.

Yep always loved this goofy movie, it was in my first DVD purchase (along with Roger Rabbit and Labyrinth).
