Hi!  I'm Theo.  I'm 27 years old, with black hair, have ten fingers and ten toes (in a jar under my bed), am gay, reasonably tall, and living in Japan.  I just discovered Rifftrax (which sounds vaguely dirty to me), so I have a lot of catching up to do.  Luckily, most of these movies are available at my local video store.  Can't wait to host my first Rifftrax party this weekend.  Thought I  would start things off with LOTR.

Glad you could be with us!

I think you'll find that hosting Rifftrax Watching parties is a tremendous joy, and a privelege to experience a new Riff with your friends.

Welcome! The LOTR trax is decent, and probably a good place to start, but you should definitely check out Road House, Battlefield Earth, and Point Break for some the funniest material.

You're telling us you're... TALL?!?!?  You monster!  I'm a short 5'5" ... been looked down upon all my life...  :(

But enough about me, welcome to the board! I think you'll like it here, just don't let all the sarcasm scare you off!

haha, you seriously live in Japan, thats cool. an old college friend of mine went to high school there. So most of these movies are easy to find over there?

I wish I lived in Japan...

Anyway, how would a trans-lingual Trax party work, exactly?

Do you watch the film in English (in which case you have to be sure everyone present is fluent enough not to be thrown by words like klinko-historian), or in Japanese (in which case I'd assume there'd be a few instances wherein the jokes fall flat due to translation problems)?

Or mayhap bewilderment and confusion, due to that fact that in general the Japanese are raised to be very polite, and talking during/over a movie would be an utterly foreign concept to some of them....

It's just going to be a bit difficult to track down some of the more obscure DVD's in rural Japan.  LOTR  - no problemo.  Battlefield Earth might be a bit trickier.  But hearing them riff that movie would be a dream fulfilled.

This weekend I am showing the mst3k episode of Prince of Space.  I'm hoping to hook my friends and convince them to start a bi-weekly Rifftrax / Mst3k party.  I feel vaguely like a tupper-ware salesman.

Well, hopefully.  Our local video store seems to have about the same American movie selection as a small stateside Blockbuster would, surprisingly.  Let me put it this way... everyone in the country knows who Jack Bauer is.

Thank you kindly, but I think I am most in need of a Gutter Bumber Shoot.  The thing about the Osaka area is that it doesn't rain terribly hard, but when the rain comes you can expect it to last about 2 weeks.
