I would love to see Del Toro do Hellboy 3. The first two were escellent.
I doubt it would happen any time soon, and unfortunately Ron Perlman is 62 already.
There is also the issue with Mike Mignola not wanting to finish off Hellboy comics, which would be the story of the next movie.

You weren't going to anyway? Pacific Rim sounds cool on it's premis alone, and in the hands of Guillermo Del Toro we have every reason to beleave it will be GLORIOUS!

I still think it's somehow much more believable to see a 60+ Ron Perlman put on makeup and punch monsters than it is to see a 70+ Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones walking down the street.  Is that wrong?

I read the story, though, and I was under the impression that everyone OTHER than a studio wanted to make Hellboy 3, not that Del Toro wasn't interested.  I thought Del Toro shipped the name around and no one bought it, and he got really depressed about it.  Perlman, I know, isn't the issue, because he said as long as he had some time off between movies to not put on the makeup, he'd be happy playing the character forever.

And just because Mignola hasn't finished the comics doesn't mean they can't wrap up the movies.  It'd be nice, sure, but just because there are rumors floating that Nolan is killing off Batman in the "Nolan trilogy" doesn't mean they'll stop making Batman comics, whether those rumors are true or not.  Mignola can do whatever he wants for as long as he wants, and more power to him for it, but that doesn't mean it has to be exactly the same as the movies.
