As a longtime fan of MST3K, I have (like many others) taken time to compare my Rifftrax experience with that of the show.  Granted, it's a "bad fan" habit to compare later works with earlier works in other media and with different teams, etc., but it's hard to resist.

That having been said, I've noticed that I seem to prefer (and get better laughs from guests from) the tracks with all three (Mike, Kevin, & Bill.)  I don't know if the writing process is different- what seems to really make the most difference is the interaction and play between the riff "characters."  It's simply much funnier when they play the jokes off of one another.

It's more situational for me.

Granted, the interplay between these three geniuses is as brilliant as ever, but given the quality of the material and delivery, a solo Mike effort can be just as good, and hold its own.

Case in point: Roadhouse.

It's just so incredibly funny and brilliant, it continues to rank among the very best Rifftrax, and is certainly one of the most memorable comedic experiences I've had in my lifetime.

I'm kinda with kodiak.  I haven't been crazy for any of the ones with the three.  My faves tend to be the ones with just Mike.  I think it's more of the movies than the talent.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

I think its law of probability. Meaning, if you have 3 riffers, then you have at least 3 writers. And we all know the more brains you add to the writing process of riffing a movie will lead to more jokes.
I also think with 3 writers, there is a better chance of someone catching a joke that might go missed if say it were a Mike-Solo or a Mike/Kevin only rifftrax.

Does this make any sense?  :P

It does make sense. This is one of the rare instances when more writers leads to a better final product.
