I find it hard to believe this isn't completely made up.  Does anyone know if this is real or if it was made up for a joke?

So it's real????  I'll have to watch that next time I am at the library but from the screengrab it looks like it involves a giant clear ball of some kind???

rolling down a hill inside a giant plastic ball, yes.

Good night!  It's hard to know if the Balrogs or that is the greater threat to your health there.

Hey, at least it's slightly safer than the falling-down-the-hill-after-a-wheel-of-cheese thing...

That looks like it might be fun, I'd try it on a built up course like that.

Looks like the closest place to me is Roundtop Mountain Resort just south of Harrisburg, they have 8 of those things and 3 courses.

Just about 100 miles, or 2 hours away from me, not really worth it for a 5 minute roll down a hill...

And to think I used to think Cricket was strange and confusing.

I have always wanted to try and figure out Cricket.  I always see highlights while watching Sky Sports News, but I can't seem to get the grasp of it.

More like a nice way to break your neck!  :o

It's not a sport in the sense there's competition or anything, besides racing I suppose.  It's just crazy fun

It's pretty much Baseball that just goes for way longer

I don't see how.  You've got 2 or 3 feet of air cushion all around you, and they put water in the inner sphere so you slide around in there, so you pretty much stay in the same position as the ball rolls along.

I don't think you can change speed or even steer.  Maybe you could steer a little by shifting your weight, but it's pretty much all up to gravity as to who would win a race...  So I don't think it could be  turned into a real sport.

If you're on a flat surface you can crawl in them, little kids can even run or walk
