He reminds me way too much of the guy in The Lovely Bones who murdered Susie Salmon.

If you saw that film, you'll recall at the beginning she says, in her disembodied voice, that the event occurred "before pictures of missing children were put on milk cartons...back before people thought this kind of thing could happen..." The date of her murder was 1973.  Around the time this short would have been made.

"Hey, little boy...I have a magic book shop where the books talk.  Maybe they'll talk to you, too..."

This would NEVER get shown in schools now.
