I've never emailed support and not gotten a response.

I've also never emailed support, and likewise have yet to get a response.

I know plenty about auto gain. I'll take another look at it.

Edit: Checked it again, on headphones and two different speaker setups and I can hear everything fine.

Uh huh...

So what else do you expect from me here? The autoduck is working, the levels are fine both to my ears and visually on the meters, I've tested this on - as I said - headphones, computer speakers, and television speakers. I'm not some amateur just flipping switches to see what happens so if there is something you specifically want, say it and I'll see what I can do. No need for attitude or passive aggressiveness - I'm pretty approachable and, believe it or not, do like to take pride in my work.

Edit: And your post wasn't ignored in the Mesa Thread. Things have been busy and I have not been on the forum much. Same goes for the rest of the crew as well - hence the new mods and _sarah making more of the announcement posts. If you have issues, email support or even PM me.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

What would help too is that if someone is going to post about a new title that they make they make the subject line a little more direct like when the RiffTrax folk post an announcement.

In a word, no.

Some folks in the past have expressed the desire to be surprised when a new title comes out. Putting the title in the title means that everytime the thread gets bumped, we'd be putting a great big thumb in those peoples' eyes. So, I'll keep refraining from doing so and you'll have to keep actually reading the thread to find out what's being riffed.

I am more than happy seeing just the date.  What only ever bothered me in the past was when it would just be "Coming next..." or just the title.  Seeing the date helps me keep track of when it is and how long I have to wait.  (and also allowed me to know that it wasn't a NEW "coming soon" thread after the fact.)

Oh crap!! You didn't take into account your Brian Wilson style deafness, did you??

I still never have problems with your audio mixing. I think it's great... but then again, I compress it all when authoring my DVD's.

Unabeefer,
Would you mind sharing what sound software application you use for compression, and the settings used that enhances the wav file? I am very familiar with this techique, so please be technical. If we can't have the source files anymore, I suppose I have to work with what I've got. Grug, that is not a slam, just rolling with the changes. Thanks!

All I do (to each and every riff I have....) for volume adjustment is in CoolEditPro (yeah, that old thing).  Under "Amplitude > Dynamics Processing" I merely select "limit soft -24 dB w/ boost". (12 or 18 would work too, but I've found 24 makes absolutely everything at a nice flat RMS level)    I also amplify down 10 dB after that just to meet what I feel is a normal volume for my DVD's (otherwise it can get blaringly loud).......  but the soft limit with boost tends to raise the quiet parts and soften the loud parts (a LOT).

I first started doing that back when the first spat of shorts had that early early ducking problem (where the volumes of the short and riffers were kind flip-flopped, so the ducking almost sounded like a noise-gate. Gave me a headache.  I think they fixed that around the 25th short)...  and I found it worked well when re-authoring movies too, so explosions or car chases wouldn't overpower the riffers.  Ever since, I've just done that to everything before burning.

Hope that makes sense.

Let's not make this personal, Grug. As a paying customer, I am voicing my concerns over my investment. Pure and simple.

I don't believe I did make it personal. If you ask a question and someone doesn't see it in a sea of thousands of posts and then you take it out on them when they try to help you later - Seems a little unfair to me.

Further, it is entirely possible to ask your questions in a polite or even in a detached way, without having to accuse them of not knowing how to do their job. And further, you could have replied with a thank you, or a, 'it's not working for me, here's my set up.'

I am sure it was just a momentary lapse, and that you are a perfectly pleasant person in real life. It's very easy to forget in a detached-internet forum that you are talking to a person. Sorry if you feel unfairly called out, it's not the first time it has happened on this forum (generally, I mean, not specifically you) and it's not the first time I've felt compelled to point it out.

I miss the glory days of this forum too.

I will try this out, thanks!!

It's probably considered a "dirty" way of going about it... but it was a trick I picked up back when I used to mix albums for local bands.

I'm uploading a short (40 second) clip of the first short for an example. (Unlisted, not public... so you can only see if you click here: http://youtu.be/s8vNC9UeS84 )

losingmydignity

I learn about the new releases on Facebook. They seem to pop up there first, even before this forum. This means I check Facebook a lot more than I normally would.

p.s. is that the dog from Manos in the film? (haven't watched Bigfoot yet so I'm going by the preview.)

Cool, I'll check it out in the morning :)

MartyS (Gromit)

Just watched it, I didn't notice any audio problem on this one ( I still hope Mesa does get redone).

Wow, what a horrible movie, or movies, or whatever this monstrosity is...

Really funny riff.  I'll wait for the child board to be created to comment.

There's no child board?!?! Outrage!!! I blame the lazy moderators!!! They only make child boards for movies THEY like.  WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US!?!?!?

Edward J Grug III

I did just try to figure out if I have the power to make a child-board. I don't seem to, although I might just not realize how to do it.
