I still don't get when this is actually meant to be set, is this on the enterprise before the TV series?

Right.
So does that mean they're going to make the Klingons look like angry hispanics again like the original series?

How long was Kirk captain before the show started? I didn't think it was that long.

Pegg's an odd choice for Scotty, but he's a decent enough actor.  As for the Klingons and their foreheard differences, they explain that in Enterprise - something to do with a disease which alters the facial features - the storyline was better than it sounds.

Actually, they were experimenting with using human genetic research that led to super humans like Khan, but it back-fired on them and they lost their head ridges.  But Flox stopped the lethal effects of the genetic tinkering leaving millions of deformed Klingons.

Pretty funny.

I think they would have been better off not trying to explain the Klingons without ridges thing.   Ruffles has ridges, Klingons dont.

I forget, were the non ridged klingons the deformed ones or the ridged ones?

Sideswipe

All I have to say is whoever plays the Captain better be able to do a good beefy Kirk roll!

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I like the Deep Space Nine "explanation" better.

Worf:  We don't discuss it with outsiders.

End of discussion.
