So if you're going to make a big deal about how your movie was shot on 70mm and it's going to be projected super wide screen, and you're going to go around the country installing 70mm projectors just so your film can be shown in a specific way, why would you set a majority of it in a really fake looking, cramped little set?

Sure, some of the exterior panoramas look nice, but it appears as if we're spending a lot of time in this empty little cottage on a sound stage.  Seems to me like someone became infatuated with a new toy, and wanted to go play with it even if it was freezing outside and his mom wanted him home in a half hour.

The Roddy Piper short film Portal to Hell is complete.  Here's the trailer.

QuoteThe ending to Toy Story 3 seemed pretty final when it closed with a sense of nostalgia and love on its vision of Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the Andy toy gang. In fact, it felt like it had to be the end since Woody and the whole collection were 'set free' by Andy to be the playthings of another child altogether. So where do you go with Toy Story 4?

Apparently in the direction of a love story.

Pak-Man

Every Toy Story sequel so far has initially felt like a bad idea, yet they keep getting better. I'll trust Pixar (For anything except Cars sequels...).

Yeah, that's my concern. Lasseter was in charge of Cars 2, and that was a true failure. Now, he's done plenty of great work beforehand, but it does make me suspicious if he's losing his touch.

it'll be an animated version of brokeback mountain, right? that's the logical direction.

Sounds a lot more interesting. Although I think the inclusion of Galactus is too much for the first movie. Plus, this STILL makes the major mistake of giving Doom superpowers. I really don't get why they can't seem to get Doom right. But if it does revert back to Marvel, I think they wouldn't make that mistake.

It seems more interesting than what we got, but I don't think it would've made a better movie either, mostly because it is so overstuffed to the gills that it would just be this big dense mess.

Even if I'm not a comics guy and fairly unfamiliar with the source material, I still feel like it's gotta be easier than this to make a movie out of them. I mean, there've been four at this point (three of them genuine attempts at quality!), and nothing's stuck. It shouldn't be this hard.

I think it would have been better in that at least it would have had a lighter tone than the dark, Nolanesque, one we got.

So...is this attempting to reignite the Scream craze? Because even if this movie is good, I don't think we want to go back to the dark days of horror movies after that.
