John C Reilly, video games, actual video game characters.  Looks fun.

From flicks and the city:
Monsters & Godzilla with Gareth Edwards
QuoteDuncan Jones did it with Source Code. Rupert Wyatt did it with Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

And now director Gareth Edwards is doing it with Godzilla... making the move from debut indie feature to Hollywood blockbuster, that is.

Check out the video below to see what Gareth – the man behind the successful sci-fi film, Monsters – says about movie inspirations, political undertones, and why he's not fazed by fans or big budgets.

Did Johnston not want it?

His price probably went up.  Marvel is notorious for buying on the cheap.

Johnston works best in retro movies, and apparently Marvel wants Cap 2 in modern day. So it is probably for the best.

As for Red Skull, I would love a scene where he gets transported to Asgard and he gets his arrogant ass handed to him immediately going up against Asgardians.

Makes sense.  Pity; I really liked the first one, but it's probably a lot to do with it being "retro" the way it was.
I liked the first one taking place in WWII, and I wish they would keep the solo Cap stories back then. In Avengers, the first scene with Cap and Fury indicates that he was just unfrozen and hadn't done anything with Fury yet, not that he had already had an adventure in between the end of Cap 1 and Avengers.

Woah, I didn't expect them to use real game characters.

Huh, kinda hard to get a line on this one just from the trailer.
VIVA IL ESORDIO DEL DIABETE ADULTO DUCE!!!

Pak-Man

I heard Marvel Studios has a policy that nobody should direct an entire series of movies. They want the movie to belong to the superhero, and not the director. (Though I bet they're reconsidering that policy with Whedon..)

Sideswipe

They didn't have a problem with Favreau doing two Iron Mans.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I dunno.  Looks like it could be interesting.  Damn trailers these days give away too many scenes from movies.  There should be a law saying that you can only cut trailers from the first third of a movie.

Me too, now. That looks like it'll be a ton of fun. Very much a Who Framed Roger Rabbit for video games.
