A remake of The Gate

[Darth Geek]

I heard in a Q&A with Alex Winter that he is going to be making a remake of The Gate! Doing a little reasearch online, apparently it's been talked about for a while, so I don't know why I hadn't heard about it till now.

The Gate is a nostalgic 80s favorite of mine *cough*Riff it!*cough* and I wouldn't mind seeing a remake as long as it was done well. I wasn't head over heals with Freaked, but it was kinda fun. During the Q&A, he seemed to have right attitude (lots of practical effects, mixture of CGI is minimal) and liked that the original put the kids in more peril than the usual modern kids horror movie.

Stephen Dorff was great..........even as a small kid.

And this movie is the only one to actually tell the truth: that model rocketry can solve everything!

It's a fun movie, I remember laughing and cherring through it at a friend's house while it freaked out his older sister who was babysitting us.  Re-watching it as an adult there's a lot of issues someone could fix and make into a fun Monster House/Gremlins PG horror
