I learned that when you're a 30-something year-old man buying the DVD of this movie at Target the teenage boy checker will give you a "Seriously?!" look.

Rainbow Dash

No so much learned, but i now wonder how long till Mike and the guys admit they've have Volturi costumes made.

David

I learned you can't say 'snatch' on a pay-to-download audio file.

Compound

I learned that there's a Booboo Stewart. He played Seth apparently.

Parents? Don't give your kid the nickname "Booboo." Here, let me illustrate.

"And the Oscar for Best Actor goes to... Booboo Stewart!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Chief Justice Booboo Stewart."

" I'm stumped by these test results. Let's call in Booboo for a consultation."

"Now batting, number 16, Boo Boo Stewart!:

I learned that making an abortion argument in a crappy teenage angst romance movie is somewhat hampered by the fact that the baby in the case posed a very real, and strong, risk to the mother in which case most "Pro-Life" people would be for abortion.   I mean, what was their argument here?  I'm all for Pro-Choice in politics while my personal beliefs would be one for life, but in this case the baby was killing Bella and she wouldn't have likely survived delivery and even enough to the point where she could be transformed.

I learned it takes a flippant thought from a mortal boy to tell a bunch of people who have been vampires for centuries that maybe a half-vampire fetus might want blood to feed on, I also learned that it's a good idea to go right to using human blood (which Bella likely needed to sustain her life) rather than at least trying animal blood first.  Along the same lines I learned that a family of vampires who've no need for food or drink keep a bunch of cheap white styrofoam cups and lids around for just such an occasion.

I learned that the best time to shave your legs is not for your wedding ceremony but for the sex a few hours later.

I learned that there's a very bad way to portray telepathic communication between creatures in a movie.

I learned that vampire leaders spend their day sitting in a basement doing nothing at all but acting fey and just wait for some random intern to hand them a poorly formatted letter.

I learned that if I'm going to deliver a message to vampire leaders to make sure I proof-read it.

I learned that Mustache Dad, Harpo, Ashley Greene, Blonde Killer Bride, Anna Ferris, Carlisle and Vampire Mom aren't in this movie very much but the little time they are in it they're still way more interesting than Bella or Edward.

NRRork

I learned that your typical mother is apparently THRILLED to learn that her 18-year-old daughter is marrying her creepy, pale boyfriend with the intense gaze.

Everything I thought I knew about parents led me to think this WOULDN'T be the case.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

Well, her mother did seem a bit loony.  But, even Mustache Dad seemed to take her getting married in pretty good stride.

NRRork

Well, at least Moustache Dad's reaction seemed to be begrudging acceptance that he just couldn't stop this, followed by drinking.

THAT, I can believe. A parent just realizing that, unfortunately, they just can't stop it because for reasons that elude them right now, the law says their idiot daughter is technically an adult now, and the best they can do is be there for her and hope it doesn't ruin her life. In fact, that's such a convincing reaction that I suspect it was nothing like that in Stephenie Meyer's book.

I learned that when you are secretly a vampire, and exposure to direct sunlight in the presence of humans will mean a death sentence, you will not think twice about holding an outdoor wedding ceremony on a sunny day.

Actually conversation at Best Buy when purchasing:  "It's for my niece."  "That's okay, sir.  We don't judge."

(My niece loved the movie, by the way.  What is with kids today?)

You guys really care what a retail cashier thinks of your masculinity? Especially when most of us are pushing 30 and own at least one article of clothing with cartoon/comic book characters on them...

Besides, when I was working retail I hated & judged all of the customers anyway, simply for not having to work retail. :P

(Now, ordering it online and having it taint all of your Amazon rec's...that suuuuucks.)
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

Well, I've purchased quite a few Rom-Coms over the years, and didn't give a damn what the cahier thought.  Some of them, I actually enjoyed and don't mind saying so.  I didn't think twice about buying High School Musical.

Something about these movies makes them embarrassing to buy.  Probably a combination of content and quality.  That, or fear that buying them might get you put on some sort of watch list...

To be fair, in the Twilight universe sunlight doesn't kill vampires it just makes them sparkle.  Which this movie apparently forgot, I believe it has to be direct sunlight so you could quibble that the shade of the out-door wedding offered protection but what about on the beach while they're on the honeymoon?

(And, yes, the Volturi vampire leaders seem to kill any vampire who exposes himself to humans but it seems that it has to be done in a very public display and, well, they have to know about it.  I suspect the wedding stuff wouldn't tick them off... too much.)   It did seem odd to me that Edward doesn't sparkle during the beach scenes in this movie and there where times when he and Bella were in bed where Bella looked whiter than Edward!

I did learn that in this movie for the first time since Anna Kendrick's "breast tanning" scene in the first movie the creators finally decided to give male viewers some fan-service with Kristen Stewart being in some skimpy lingere. (In spite of her skinniness I did like the way she looked in that sheer blue thing she's in when she plops down in front of Edward and he just chuckles and covers her up.)

In this movie I also learned that between movies Werewolves learned about shirts, along those same lines I also learned they apparently either keep stashes of clothes hidden around the woods or their clothes must just come back under some Hulkian magic when the go back to human form.

(And, seriously, the "woosh" noises whenever the vampires ran or jumped in this movie were down-right Smallville-ian.)
