but I guess my favourites are Hiscock and Hercock.

Yeah, I would have thought all the Hitlers had changed their name to Hiller.

Of course, some people dont want to change (see below).   Yes, I know it is a family name, but man, I would have changed my last name.

Kind of like the episode of 30 Rock. "He's a Black you know. The Black family.  Very musical people, great dancers, not fantastic swimmers I must say."

Yep, there are plenty of embarresing names out there that make you go, why don't you change? I had a person and they could barely get the request for Bogan out without laughing, 'I know it sounds fake, but it's real!' and it was.

SecretAgentSuperDragon

That sounds like a name candidate before they settled On Walgreens.

my dad had a good story about a name he ran into down in Inglewood.  this Lady's name was (spelled phonetically)  yurrr reeen.

He asked how she got such a, unusual, name.  Apparently while her mother was giving birth in the hospital room she looked over and saw a bottle of a beautiful amber liquid with that name on it.  So yeah this women was named after a bottle of piss and sadly they were ignorant of the fact.

hmmmmm,  interesting, how its totally not my dads sense of humor, not even by half.  I have to believe my dads story was in fact real or i misunderstood something vital to the telling, because my dad really doesnt thing that sort of thing is amusing or worth relating.  seriously he even considered mst3k to be too blue at times.  He also isnt a joke teller or a laugher,  i cant think of the last time ive seen him tell a joke.  Now if this was my uncle it would be a different story.

ill ask my dad again, maybe i got something messed up in the telling.

did he explain how this person who apparently knew enough english to read the word, was unfamiliar with the word urine?

6079SmithW

I just can't imagine any human being wouldn't know what urine looks like. I mean, seriously, we're not talking about something one doesn't often see.

But as that snopes article says, most of the unintentional funny name things are urban legends. The closest you'll come is where someone has a weird foreign name that sounds dirty in English, like if there were a French person named 'phoque' (which I believe means 'seal'.)

Quotedid he explain how this person who apparently knew enough english to read the word, was unfamiliar with the word urine?

it was some person he was arresting (as i remember), asking a lot of personal questions probably isnt a great idea.  further they could have read it phonetically.  like i said, assume i have a totally faulty memory here and am incorrect on everything i have heard.  im just this side of tempted to delete the original post just because with the presence of the snopes article it seems as if i have my facts about SOMETHING wrong.

I had a classmate whose name was Robert Pissame. R. Kelly's next target. ;)

Somebody liked Cosby way too much.

Just Some Guy

I learned so much from this movie.

I learned that arm wrestling tournaments are double elimination except for the dramatic final match where you pretend to ignore the dozens of times the rules were stated before.

I learned that it's legal for truck drivers to drive on the left hand side of the road across the double solid line as long as they do it in an establishing shot.

I learned that Smasher was the best dramatic performance by actor Magic Schwartz. (Really!  Look at the credits!)

I learned that the appropriate response to being told "Leave or I'll call the police" is not "Please do so I can report the kidnapping you're currently an accessory to" but is instead driving your truck through the house.

I learned that the majority of successful arm wrestlers have animal names.

I learned that you don't really need to keep track of your character's names.

I learned that there is a trucker and teamster weight class for arm wrestling, but it doesn't matter since all the weight classes come together in the finals.
