Which new console, P3, Wii, or 360?

I'm biased, I want the Xbox 360 because I LOOOOOOVE Fusion Frenzy. Fusion Frenzy 2 looks amazing but even though I really like this game, I'm having a hard time justifying buying a new console for just one game. Sooo I'm opening my options.

Which one do you all like and why?

im getting a ps3, they havent let me down yet and i have the money available plus for me virtua fighter 5 and metal gear solid are killer apps, that i must have, so i am determined.

Ps, this is the mother of video game threads.

Wii! After only a couple months it has more great gotta-play games than the other two, The virtual console rocks, the Wiimote is brilliant, and it's cheaper!

yes, if i wasnt so damned preset on the ps3 it would definately be a wii

The Wii looks like fun because of the mini game type games mentioned in the "Wii" thread but what else is there?

I have NO idea about the Play Station because we've only ever had Xbox, well and an Intellivision but that will never be replaced. Guitar Hero actually looks like fun so that's a plus, and there a jillion games for the PS2 compared to Xbox.

How does the PS3 fare to playing PS2 games? I've read that the 360 can play original Xbox games if you buy the upgraded version.

PS3 will fail I think.  Plus, that price tag isn't very appealing.  I LOVED the PS2, but Sony really let a lot of people down with the PS3.  Eventually I want to get a 360 and a Wii, but thats when I have a bit more money.

ps3 can play older games without the upgrade as far as i understand it so thats a plus.  I havent yet seen the ps3 so i dont know how it fares.  I will buy it.

Only certain titles. Its not just the premium version you just need the hard drive. You have to either make a cd-r and run it on the 360 or you download from x-box live (free of charge) the specific patch for the specific game.

Also I have always said for years the only way to have the best system is to get all the systems. There will always be that one game that won't be on any other system that you will want.

true true, they let everyone down, but whats this fail nonesense?  what do mean?  they wont be able to continue making them?  nah no way, there is however a good chance they will lose market share (already happened)  but dont count them down yet me thinks.  give it a year or so at least give it till mgs4, if that bombs then they are screwed.

Make a cd-r of the game? Download patch, soooo the 360 has to be hooked up to the internet?

Well, there's Zelda, of course. That's worth the price of admission alone. :^) Elebits is also a lot of fun, and coming down the pipeline there's Metroid, Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers (REALLY looking forward to it!), and a new DDR, just to name a few. The virtual Console also has a bunch of great classic games from a bunch of classic systems for a reasonable price.
X-Box is a good second choice. As mentioned, you'll need to network your X-Box to download patches to the hard drive to play most classic X-Box games and there are quite a few that just don't run, but it enhances 'em if they DO work and makes 'em all nice and hi-def.
Sony hasn't put anything on the table yet worth having that you can't get somewhere else. I suspect the entire creation of  the PS3 was a scheme to get as many Blueray DVD players in as many households as possible so that Sony can become the next standard.

I think that as well.  They need to get a good exclusive and SOON or they will be too far behind.

Argo-Puppy

Arrrrrgh!! I was really hoping we wouldn't have to figure out how to get the darn thing hooked up. Stupid game systems and their networking. There's no chance that they will just fix it in the future so everything will magically co-exist is there?

Pak - What do you mean by the Wii's Virtual Console?

No. You can go to X-box.com and make a cd-r of the patches to play x-box games on the 360.
