Yep he gave the eulogy at Bill Hicks funeral. I've not seen any of his stand up act for ages though.

Personally, I think the worst movies are those unpleasant terrible movies that everyone seems to think are masterpieces of cinema.  Something shlocky like The Room or Plan 9 is at least so bad its good, and everyone KNOWS it's poorly made.  But you get dreadful crap like The Godfather which everyone oohs and aahs over and says "OMG PERFECT MOVIE", and that just makes it that much more unpleasant.

Really you think The Godfather is the worst movie ever made. Even if you did like the story you have to admit it is one of the best acted and well shot films ever made.

I don't have to admit shit.

Wow.  You need to take some pills and calm down or something.

If I had known saying that The Godfather was better acted and shot then Plan Nine would make you this angry I would not have said anything.
*dies of irony overload*

Stop strawmanning, fan boy.

Who's straw manning.  All I said was the Godfather was better acted and you flipped out complete with cursing.

No.  You didn't say that The Godfather was better acted.  I would have respected that opinion, though I would disagree.  You told me that I had to admit that the Godfather was one of the best films ever made.  In fact, in my opinion, it is terrible.  You attempted to dictate what my opinions should be.

I do not expect you to be smart enough or sane enough to understand the difference.

I do think that Plan 9 is a better movie than The Godfather.  Sure the script is nonsensical and the production values are terrible and the continuity errors are glaring, but here's the difference.  Plan 9 is pleasant to watch because it's so bad it's good.  Godfather is unpleasant to watch because it is terrible.

you do know I was using a figure of speech right?  That figure of speech has been in use for at least 100 years.

How about we change the subject guys? :)

I totally agree with an earlier poster that After Last Season
could most assuredly be a top contender for worst movie
ever. I mean how many shots in that movie were of a wall
or a ceiling fan? I don't mind bad movies, but movies where
somebody laid down the camera and left it recording speaks
of the worst and laziest kind of film-making possible(in my
opinion).

On some level, I do find that humorous because it is so silly
and unbelievable that they clearly didn't find room in the "budget" for an
editor at all, but there you are.

Doc, you both used a figure of speech. His response is perfectly fine. As for the cursing...well some people just like to fucking curse because it's cool. Shit was just a word to indicate "anything"

Anyway, yes, back to what Gunflyer said (to which I have no opinion)

Cursing is only cool if you are 12 years old.

The entire history of human communication would call that assertion into question.

But enought of that. Back to the topic folks. :)

Andrea is cool
Andrea likes to say Fuck
Therefore saying Fuck is cool

It's deductive inference, bitch!

I kid, I kid. We all have the right to our opinions, so let's move on

Curse words add zest to conversation, as long as they're not overused.

Why does that sound like something your parents told you?

Cursing is fine.  I don't do it that often, but it can add emphasis to a person's speech where "normal" words wouldn't.

Jeez, some comedians wouldn't be able to do stand-up without them.  Even the good ones.

Lots of words are only cool when you're twelve. "Raconteur" or "defenestrate", for instance. But just because a word isn't cool anymore doesn't mean it should be removed from your vocabulary entirely.

Okay, should I start a thread called. swearing ; it's the dog's bollocks so this discussion has a place to be moved to? ;)

Also, there's nothing sexier than a woman who's comfortable with swearing and does so easily.
