Is the Rifftrax LIVE Reefer Madness DVD regionless?

I'm a big fan of MST3K/Rifftrax living in the UK, and have been looking forward to this DVD for ages. I just want to check something before I buy the DVD, pay the money for it and wait for it to be imported though; is the DVD regionfree? Will I be able to play it on my English DVD player, or am I going to have to wait for a Region 2/PAL version of the DVD to be made?

Hell, I'll probably buy it even if it is R1 only but I'm just wondering, when the Royal Mail finally deliver my copy of the DVD while I'm having a breakfast of crumpets and tea, whether I'll actually be able to watch it.

Thanks in advance

I think if you smoke enough Reefer, that everything in the world becomes Regionless! :rimshot:

According to the Amazon.com description, it's Region 1 (U.S. and Canada) only.  Sorry :(

Damn. The one thing stopping me from watching the thing live in a theatre was the fact that I lived in the UK and so no-one was actually doing the live broadcast. I love RiffTrax enough to import a DVD, but not enough to go on a holiday to America for one show. :(
Damn. Damn damn. This is heavy.

The VOD along with a Dload to Burn ISO will be up this week.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

I'm not sure if the amazon description is accurate.  We've discussed this sort of thing before, and don't want/need any of our DVDs to have region codes.  I'm not sure where they are implemented along the process.  Can we verify that the discs actually have this on them?

The DVD's are region free. Apologies for the long wait, I wanted to make sure before commenting beyond the VOD.

Related: are the Blurays going to be region-locked? (For our PAL fans out there.)

UPDATE: We just heard back from the people authoring the Blurays. They will make sure the Blurays are compatible with all regions.

Even if they weren't, can't you just hack your DVD player and set it to region zero? (universal).  It was just a matter of entering a code on my players remote control to hack mine.  Don't need to worry about which region dvd's you are buying that way.  Just sayin'.

And I'm happy these are finally out, but I'm not sure why the mods were saying they had  no plans to release them...messing with  us for being a pain in the arse perhaps?  :D

No, we really had no plans. We're trying to get people to come see the shows in the theaters so that we can justify more of them with Fathom.

Ya better haul yer ass out there to the theater cause thats the only time they'll ever be seen. They might just burn all the filming of the next live event right after its over,  thats if they even bother filming them in the firstplace. So before its to late, get to the damn theater for some Jack the Giant Killer.  </end stupid rant>
