The Ninja Collection

We were browsing blockbusters trying to find the perfect crap gift to give our friend Will (the one who heckled Hero) for Christmas when we stumbled upon a few second-hand DVDs of martial arts movies directed by one Godfrey Ho.

They may well be the greatest bad movies ever made.

The ones we've seen so far:
Ninja Terminator
Ninja The Protector
Golden Ninja Warrior

We've still got Ninja Dragon waiting patiently for a viewing, but the other three have been given away as gifts now.

For anyone who has not yet been blessed with any of Ho's masterworks, here's a Youtube link of a moment from Ninja Terminator, in my opinion the funniest of all the movies.

A friend of mine keeps raving about how good/bad Ninja Terminator is.  After watching that clip, I think I'll have to borrow it from him.

Is that toy robot a Diaclone version of that giant Autobot space shuttle / train station?  And no, not the one that forms and bird, and a dog thing... the other one..

Why did he hold the Garfield phone four inches away from his face? (I'm going to completely accept the presence of the Garfield phone... everybody had those things back in the day). Was he burned one too many times by the "shaving cream in the reciever" bit?

These are questions I know the movie will not answer, but I wish to seek it out anyway.

I own Ninja Dragon ($3 from Big Lots, couldn't resist).  Ugh.  Richard Harrison, why must you wear eyeliner as a ninja?  Oh that's right, you aren't really a ninja. 

There's the Richard Harrison part of the movie and the generic martial arts part of the movie.  Neither is good.  From what I've heard Richard Harrison's footage in many ninja/martial arts movies only really comes from one movie that he was supposed to be in, spliced 50 million different ways.

I haven't seen many of the others in this Ninja Collection. I'll look into it.

This one isn't quite as funny as Ninja Terminator, but it's still one of the best worst things you are ever likely to see.
