Anyone here have/had parties just to make fun of movies?

The Bollywood Dracula movies were weird.   Not sure I like singing and dancing in my Dracula films!

Bloodfeast of the Blind dead is up next.

Thank goodness for the beer fridge in my back bedroom.

what about the rest of the family?

Some people honestly dont get the jokes.  which is why we like it so much more me thinks.

To paraphrase Joel, from a Comedy Central special on MST3K in the early 90's:

"When we come up with a joke, we don't say, 'Who's gonna get this?' We say, 'The right people will get this.'"
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I'm wondering if other people have done this and, if so, what films you've chosen.

Not intentionally, but on my friends birthday a few years ago we had a few drinks and a trampoline(!), discovered Terminator 2 was showing on TV, and ripped it to shreds. Except for one guy, for whom it was like his favourite movie ever, and when it had finished , he said "I'm never watching a film with you guys again".

I've never understood that. I love T2, but I would happily riff it a new one. Something you love shouldn't be an object of worship, but something you're comfortable having fun with.

That's why I like 'Trax so much.

The first ones I watched were films that I like, and therefore already had on DVD (X-Men, Matrix, Plan 9, Boron), followed by the "meh" ones that I had anyway (Phantom Menace, Living Dead).

I mean, I love MST, but there was always a kind of sense that they were only doing the obvious/easy ones. 'Trax goes a step further. I don't think I've heard a 'Trax as good as MST yet, but in terms of conception/ambition I have more respect for them, and they can only keep getting better.

Are you kidding? After I see that, I'm afraid I won't be able to tolerate Dracula movies WITHOUT singing and dancing.

I only ever saw the first one (Tombs of the Blind Dead). MAN is that thing creepy.
