The peer pressure finally got to me, so here I am.  My iriff group is still in its primordial soup phase, though we have selected a film for our first treatment.

I've been watching MST3K and its progeny for as long as I can remember, with Mitchell and The Final Sacrifice probably being my most favorite.  My favorite RiffTrax has to be New Moon (The LOTR/Aragorn riff STILL has me laughing).

I look forward to a long and happy acquaintance with you all.

Onwards and Upward!

Thanks Johnny, I've voted and once I take a gander at the Spider-Man riff I'll chime in there as well.

I just spent the first $50 toward my first iriff today: Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000s and a DVD copy of the film that I'm 90% sure we're doing.

Good luck to you, I have a Lifechat headset for riffing myself.  It'll do it's job, though the more you do it the more you'll want the real nice microphones.  Any hints as to your iRiff choice?  Or are you saving that for a surprise?

One of the reasons I picked up the LifeChat was based on your (and others) recommendation on the hints/tips thread.  We're going to be iriffing Commando, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.  As we sat there brainstorming about which film to do and it hit us like a thunderbolt.  The funniest part has been that I've only been able to find it in a DVD double feature pack with The Marine or on Blu-ray.  I've vowed not to buy a blu-ray player until I can also get a TV worthy of it.

I am feeling a little daunted about the whole "synching" thing.  Up to now I've only used Audacity to record and burn onto CD my lines from plays I've been cast in so that I could listen to them on the road.

So we've had our first couple of watch-thrus of Commando and will be starting our rough draft script this week.

Still working on a name for the iriff group.  I'd like to call it The Brothers Hardin, except the third member of the group isn't one :)

Perhaps the third member can be referred to as the "brother from a different mother" or you could call yourselves "The Brothers Hardin and Bob", that I'd assuming the third guy is named Bob of course.

Hmmmm, how does The Brothers Hardin & Jeff sound?  I think we can make Bob change his name to Jeff (or maybe even "Jefftastic!"

Update:

We've scripted the first three (of 20-something) chapters of Commando.  Its going well.  My brother was doubtful until he actually sat down with me to script and after about 15 minutes he was totally committed :)

Now all we've got to do is figure out this syncing stuff :)
