So Peter the Psychologist and the nameless guy towards the end...

...are actually the same guy. More or less.

This is probably common knowledge around here, but I just found it out while reading about this movie, and thought I'd share just in case.

Apparently the actor who played Peter quit the movie part way through. That's why he's not at the party (I'd been wondering about that). Rather than reshoot all his scenes, they just hired someone new and gave him all of Peter's remaining lines. So even though the credits list them as two different characters, for all intents and puposes they're the same guy, played by two different actots. Explains why Peter disappears and why this other guy comes out of nowhere.

I read the Wikipedia entry on The Room and it appears that actors having "creative differences" with Tommy Wiseau was a fairly common occurrence on the set.
