I UNDERSTAND PERFECTLY WHAT IS WITH THIS MOVIE!!!!

It's all very simple.  I'm pretty sure that "Tommy Wisseau" saw "The Producers" and the 'Theoretically, a man can make more money with a flop than with a hit,' became his mantra.

And THAT is why we have this movie.  That's why he's holding to asking people to see it multiple times because it's so deep and nuanced.

But that would go against the idea presented in the Producers, where the goal was to make sure it had a one-time run and never be spoken of again.  If people come again and again then they have to pay the investors more than they are making.

Right. He has gone on many movie screenign tours with this movie and is eaking the fame off it's "success". I don't know if The Room ever got in the black or not finacially. Although maybe he did try to do the Producers plan and failed at it as ineptly as he did at acting, writing, directing, producing, etc.
