Since I am sure there are people like me who would be embarassed to have movies like Cocktail, Roadhouse, etc. on their DVD shelves without explaination, are you all creating special DVD covers for them?    I am using the basic MST3K template (with lots of editing) for my covers.   The image on the back is a recording studio rather than the SOL spaceship.

Post your DVD covers, let's see 'em!

Yeah I have been making covers for mine as well:

Here is my "Cocktail"

Since I am anticipating at least a few thousand Rifftrax over the years I am making them for the Thinpak or "slim" style of DVD cases to save space.

VERY nice adaption of the Cocktail retail cover!   I was torn between doing that and having a standard template for all.

I think thinpak is probably a good idea and I might be converting mine to that as well.

I don't know what our mods think about us sharing links to our custom covers.   Would you want us to provide the link ourselves, or upload them to your site?   Since we ARE using your logos and images, I am wondering if the mods are okay with us providing links.

And....... thinpak or regular size covers?

Thanks! I thought about doing a template and my first three I did was bascially stock with some added items. Cocktail was done completely from scratch, so the text is nice and sharp.

With almost 1,000 dvds it has become a necessity for me.

I would like to know that answer as well. They know people are making their own covers and there were a couple of posts from the MODS talking about making a sticky thread or contest about the custom covers.  I hope it is ok to let people download the covers and provide a link.

Or better yet, someone create a website, and host them all there!

I gotta say MrTorso, those covers you've made are absolutely brilliant.  I love the new pics on the back, especially the one with Tom Cruise with the soup on his head.  Bravo.

EDIT:  PSLowner, you got a nice one too, the "old school" cover.  I wish there was feeware for Macs so I could author DVD's with the rifftrack on it.

I am hopeful that there will be a LOT of future Rifftrax movies, so I have converted mine to thinpak as well.

Guess I am like you, just waiting on the write up blurb to finish XXX.

Once again, I can only say that these are brilliant.  I think if we get more covers posted here, we should sticky this thread to call it to everyones attention.

Thanks!  I knew I had to use that one shot. Also not sure how I feel about Kelly Lynch's bethonged ASS but I am too lazy to go back and get a new shot.  Also if anyone wants to use my covers they can. They are posted at www.mst3kdvdcovers.com.

You, sir, are a giant among men! When your XXX cover is finished please let us know. I hope you have a high bandwidth quota - I would expect your covers to become high-demand items!

Bob

Very nice MST3K site.   That is why I got the templates that I used to create about 50 MST3K covers for the ones that Rhino has yet to release.

Would you want me to upload my covers to your site, or would you rather just keep the site containing your covers?    Either way is fine with me.

I dont have a spiffy cool website like yours, so the best I can do is post the Rifftrax covers to my Yahoo briefcase folder.   I made the folder "public" so anyone here can go and download a cover if they like.

I'll update here when the cover becomes available on the site.

It is not my site. It was started by DarkFlounder from the MST3K Discusion Board and he has graciously allowed my covers to be posted on his site.

Gotcha, unless something different happens, I will just be uploaded the completed slimpak Rifftrax covers to the above referenced Yahoo site for folks to download if they want.   I'll probably have the covers done a day or two after the rifftrax itself is released.

Come on guys, I am sure there are more than just two folks making covers, let's see em!   No one should have to live with the shame of retail "Cocktail" or "Roadhouse" covers being on their DVD shelves.
