Welcome to Canada! I have relatives and friends in Vancouver. Beautiful city.
I live on the other side of the country...in Ontario.

Have a good time.  I've only been to Canada once, Calgary.  The only thing I had to watch out for was they call Canadian Bacon "Ham", so careful when you order ham & eggs.  But I hope yer kickin' yer feet up and Havin' plenty of these:

Hey Canadians;  If you call Canadian Bacon "Ham", then what do you call ham?

We call it Ham. I've always thought it was wierd that Americans called ham "Canadian Bacon". Somtimes its called "Back Bacon" too.

RIP John Candy

God that was an excellent movie!!!

He was always one of my favorite actors, growing up. Uncle Buck, Bud Boomer, Irv Blitzer, Gus Polinski, Chet Ripley, Barf or "Barfolemew",
and the immortal Del Griffith...

Too many unforgettable characters to mention!

RIP John Candy, indeed.

We have an actor/comedian here in Canada by the name of Rick Mercer. If you ever get a chance, check out his special called
Talking to Americans

Plot Summary for
Talking to Americans (2001) (TV)

In this show, comedian Rick Mercer pokes fun at the great Canadian irritation that while Canadians know so much about the United States, Americans on the other hand, know next to nothing about Canada. In response, Rick Mercer conducts interviews in which he asks Americans, ranging from ordinary citizens to politicians, their opinion about patently ridiculous statements about Canada and records their unquestioningly ignorant responses.

I believe that here in the states "Canadian bacon" is used to refer to, well, cheap or less desirable cuts of ham. I'm afraid it reflects a low general opinion of Canada. Sort of like calling cat meat Chinese chicken. But hey, we both produce truly shitty beer, so we've got that in common.

The sad thing is there's a handful of shows that ask Americans questions about the US and they're just as stupid:

Host, holding up a $20 bill that clearly says "Jackson" under the portrait: "Who is this man?"

Stupid American: "Ummmmmm, Beethoven?"

Host: "That's right. President Beethoven. Very good. You get ot be on TV."

I have taken it upon myself to make an executive decision to create a DVD Cover category in each of the respective rifftrax movie sections.

I am doing this for a couple of reasons...that I will talk about right now:

1) I think it will keep the DVD covers more organized and in order
2) This thread wont grow infinitely as more rifftrax are released
3) The DVD covers wont get "buried" in with the other threads in the general category.

I have asked MrTorso to take the time to repost his links too.

Thank you and God Speed.

Great idea gammer....maybe the mods could lock this thread to encourage the use of those other threads....?

If there's one thing I can do, it's lock threads!
