Good lord, working from home today and taking a lunch break, I turn on FoodTv and there is Rachael Ray screaming away.   All I could think about was her sitting in a sink trying to look sexy.   Damn, if that does not ruin your afternoon, nothing will.

Her photos actually help me sympathize with her more now that I've had a good night's sleep. But I still liek Giada more.

I've been up all night trying to figure out BP's stupid SAP problems and the only one getting any sleep is my dog.   So I am entitled to be a bit chippy.

"I am sure she is a very nice person who loves puppies and flowers".   There.

Hey Basehart, congrats on your FBI promotion.

Indeed...  he's finally getting paid to surf.

I may have mentioned this before, but Rachel Ray's boobs piss me off.

It's like they are just not trying hard enough.

The problem with Giada De Laurentiis is that she has been silver spooned her career where Rachel actualy started a little closer to the bottom and worked her way up.

Indeed she has used her Oprah connection to it's fullest extent....

And Giada's director loves her boobs!
(apparently, so does Giada  ;))

Y'know, I hate to break up the party, but after watching Battlefield Earth -- let me repeat, Battlefield Earth -- the most urgent thing you can express your hate of is ... Rachael Ray?

I just think the priorities are skewed.  That is all.

Oh no, she is not the most hated, she is more like a "hate cul-du-sac" on the long highway of hate that is, Battlefield Earth.

Although..... was flipping around TV the other day and there was a show about the Food Channel on the "hidden foods finds of St. Louis".   Being from there, I gave it a quick view.   Much to my horror, the host was Rachael Ray.   In the first three minutes she did the following cardinal sins that drive anyone from STL up the freaking wall:

1.   Kept calling St. Louis, "Saint Louie".   NO ONE from STL calls it that!!!!!!!!   Only morons do.
2.   Kept calling the Mississippi river "the missip river".   (see rant from point number one).
3.   Misprounced every Italian restaraunt's name.   Come on someone, whisper the name to her ahead of time.

On a related note, Tony Bourdain just posted this hilarious blog entry about the Food Network.  He takes it kind of easy on Rachael Ray, but boy does he ever eviscerate Sandra Lee.

I will subdue my hatred of Tony Bordain to indulge in his Lewis-Black-of-Food sort of comedy =)

...... /reading reading reading/.......

Okay - really good article.

QuoteWhat's going on here!? Giada can actually cook! She was robbed in her bout versus Rachael Ray on ICA. ROBBED! And Food Net seems more interested in her enormous head (big head equals big ratings. Really!) and her cleavage--than the fact that she's likeable, knows what she's doing in an Italian kitchen--and makes food you'd actually want to eat.
Amen, brother. I don't get why the network had her lose that one, but my guess is to make Rachael a more "respectable" cook in the public's eye. Pfft.....

QuoteComplain all you want. It's like railing against the pounding surf. She only grows stronger and more powerful. Her ear-shattering tones louder and louder. We KNOW she can't cook. She shrewdly tells us so. So...what is she selling us? Really? She's selling us satisfaction, the smug reassurance that mediocrity is quite enough.
Amen again. Rachael is like the Mac/PC commercials that just piss you off in the middle of shows that are actually /fun/ to watch. Good analogies, Bordain.

QuoteSANDRA LEE: Pure evil. This frightening Hell Spawn of Kathie Lee and Betty Crocker seems on a mission to kill her fans, one meal at a time. She Must Be Stopped. Her death-dealing can-opening ways will cut a swath of destruction through the world if not contained. I would likely be arrested if I suggested on television that any children watching should promptly go to a wooded area with a gun and harm themselves.
Lol - I always disliked her show, and you can tell she's has some personal...upgrades.... since season one. He's quite harsh to her, but understandably so =P

QuoteAND FINALLY: Some IRON CHEF AMERICA match-ups I'd REALLY like to see: 1.) Mario Batali (with one arm tied behind his back--and drunk) vs. Regina Schrambling 2.) Martha Stewart vs. Rachael Ray (bare knuckle cage match) 3.) "Mikey" from Top Chef vs. Sandra Lee
He read my mind with all of those matchups....

Hey Basehart, congrats on your FBI promotion.

Well thank you, but now that pain hurts again, I'm going to have to remove the claw hammer stuck in my skull.
