About the series...

Now I normally don't watch these movies for any reason other than the riff, and this one will be no exception.  That being said, do you think it's necessary to watch the other movies in the series (complete with riff, of course), before I watch this one?  I mean, I planned on watching them anyway at some point, and I guess this would be a good excuse.  But is the order critical?  Will I be completely lost?

Well, I'd say watch them. They're decent enough movies. But you wouldn't be lost during the riffing without having seen the other riffs. 5%-10% of the riffs might be callbacks, but the rest aren't.

Yeah, I don't think it matters either way if you're watching them riff only.

This one wasn't as dependent on the previous riffing as the past three.  The past three were hiLARious, but, they relied on how witches are satanic and evil and Hagrid jokes.  This one, however, does go into, 'when will anybody learn that EVERYTHING at Hogwarts is trying to kill you?' which is even more hilarious when one watches the first three. There's probably not a need, but, I suggest that you watch the past three (with Riff) because they were ACE!
