Doctor Who?

Nah I would love to see a Reboot movie,at the very least they could give the series a proper final so it doesn't end on a cliffhanger any more.  Then again it could be hard to do given the fact that Tony Jay is dead.

One word that should worry us.    "reboot"

Could be the one and only time that it would be an all around improvement.

Tyrant

It would be an improvement assuming the story and characters are completely re-written and the final product in no way resembles Meyer's work. But then, it wouldn't be Twilight anymore. I think what we're seeing is a franchise that's so bad that it literally has to stop being itself in order to be any good at all.

RobtheBarbarian

The remake would take place in Antarctica with Edward as a shapeshifting alien virus.

I've said it before  and I'll say it again: if this series (books and movies) was about Bella starting out shallow and getting her shit together to become a decent person, I would be all for it. That is the kind o f lesson that the readers of these books need. But noooo. It's just a justification for all of Bella's shallow, self absorbed, angst ridden melodrama bullshit.

So if they remade these movies to be more about Bella rising above her self absorbed immature nature to mature, then that would be a signifigant improvement.

And - since the subject of damnation has come up in the story - the message also seems to be that your "true love" is worth turning away from God and going to hell for.

Interesting theme for a Mormon author.

Uber-traditional Mormonism sucks if you're a woman. You basically have no value unless you're tied to a man and have children. Even in Heaven, your eternal role as a woman is to continually birth the population of whatever planet your husband is ruling over (alongside his other wives). Since Twilight is obviously Meyer working out her crap with growing up Mormon, it doesn't surprise me that she would construct Bella's super-insane and psychotic obsession with devotion to Edward along those lines.

Wow....a religion where women are treated like they're less than nothing?  There's one that doesn't (besides Wicca)?   ;)

And weird. Don't most people fantasize themselves OUT of their current situation - not into the same thing with different surroundings?

Vodu/Vodoun/VooDoo is fairly equal opportunities, Santeria too. ;)

BTW, since I think there's people here who have read all the books I need to ask another question.....

Bella lived in Arizona.  Any friends back there that maybe she kept in touch with after she moved to Forks?  Any friends that she just cut off - or cut her off after she left?  Did she maybe date someone back there? Was the person she dated normal in any way?

Also, did they ever explain why even though Carlisle's kids are all foster kids, they go by the name of Cullen when foster kids don't change their names every time they're placed with a family - and no one finds this just one more strange thing about them all?

You should stop putting so much thought into this.  After all, it's clear that the author didn't think about it at all.
