Some kind of mutated neck cancer lying dormant waiting to enslave humanity? Or maybe the chest-bursting alien moved on up.

I got it....

Lisa is an Empath like that Star Trek episode with the alien who can absorb other people's injuries.....

Lisa absorbed Claudette's breast cancer!  That's why she knew it was no big deal and no one mentions it again.
