I just realized:  the Piranhas actually stop in front of someone and roar underwater before eating them.  JUST LIKE REAL PIRANHAS.

Only when they want to do an Alien3 pastiche.

The footage too graphic for Comic-Con is leaked! Watch it before the link goes down (if it does)! http://www.shockya.com/news/2010/07/31/watch-9-minutes-of-piranha-3d-from-comic-con/

This movie looks like it'll deliver exactly what everyone expects...

Watched it last night at the midnight show, and was totally blown away. Packed to the brim with every possible angle to show exposed breasts, gore, gore, more gore, and then even more gore. It really gets completely insane how over-the-top this movie gets, and I absolutely loved it. Was just as cheesy and fun as I hoped it would be, and twice as gory. Walked out of the theater with a smile on my face.

Not a film for the squeamish (did I mention it was gory?), it gets intense at times with the red stuff. I needed something innocent afterward to calm down (I thought about Ponyo, but then realized that wasn't the best choice).

Very true. I just saw Piranha 3D tonight, a lot of fun baby!

Pretty much, you have your usual horny comedy type of thing, hot chicks partying and getting naked, only then MONSTER PIRANHAS EAT THEM!! American Pie Gets Eaten you might say. Laugh out Loud

The nudity is nice, and the gore is freakin' insane, it's so gory it actually works as a horror movie despite being so over-the-top, I'm like "please, stop mutilating these poor party people, you evil fish!"

Plus it actually works as a movie since the characters are well played, especially noteworthy being Christopher Lloyd as the guy who hypes up the evil piranhas with glorious over-the-top dialogue, and Elisabeth Shue as the action sheriff mom! Also notable are Ving Rhames and Adam Scott.

And of course, England's own Kelly Brook is glorious in this. Legendarily hot, naked, and plus she's a nice character who's somewhat heroic even, which is fun.

All in all, if you want a fun exploitation horror movie with lots of quality female nudity, and you don't mind tons of fairly disturbing gore, this is a summer movie to check out.

Saw it today. It's a very fun film. You get all the gore and boobs that you paid for. These aren't just any Piranhas. They are cannibal Piranhas released after an earthquake!  The 3-D doesn't add that much though.

Haven't seen it yet, but it's gotten some really good reviews, including 80% at Rotten Tomatoes.  Interesting to see this one.

warofthebees

Can anyone give me examples of the gore?  I want to see it, but I don't want to have a moment like "Hostel" .  I really don't mind gore, but some things go too far.
I like artificial grape flavor, but I hate real grapes.  A paradox!?

Darth Geek

Don't worry, this is over the top gore. A character has his entire legs eaten down to the bone and he complains that they ate his penis (which you later see). Also, this is Pirahna on human gore, not cruelty of one human to another.

Relaxing Dragon

Yeah, the movie sets just the right atmosphere for it all. It keeps everything fun, which is good, because otherwise some of the gore would be well beyond disturbing (even for a gorehound like me).

Exploitation cinema in the best possible sense of the word, so gloriously Corman-esq (and perhaps a bit Russ Meyer) and TOTALLY over-the-top it's like a carnival ride. The 3D is super-duper cheezy, the nudity is always gratuitous and the gore is insane.

There was a bunch of 10 year old boys in front of us who laughed, cheered, giggled and jumped in their seats all the way through it which only added to the fun.  When the lights went up the Mum escorting them looked like she'd been traumatised for life (although after a few seconds she glared at us like we were sociopaths, I assume because we'd laughed our heads off through the slaughter) while the kids had smiles a mile wide  ;D

Fish w/ boobies!!

No doubt, it was one of the best times I ever had at the cinema. It's so much fun.
