Any movies you'd think would've been...less obscure?

I'd say the Rugrats "Tales from the Crib" films. A google search results in practically nothing. Wasn't Rugrats, like, the Spongebob of the 90s [popularity wise]?

I think you have it all wrong. Spongebob is the Ren & Stimpy of this millenium.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Only the makers of Spongebob figured out how to "fly under the radar" just enough to not get kicked off the air.

Tripe

Especially considering the way they got the bubble effect.

I said POPULARITY wise. I'm judging by merchandise.

I'm a John K. fanatic who watches the original two seasons and Adult Party Cartoon religiously. You'd think I'd exaggerate how popular my tastes are in order to lull myself into thinking I'm a sane individual. But I don't. I'm proud of my insanity.

Well, for the record, I thought that the one Rugrat film I was aware of - the one in Paris - was Direct-to-Video anyway.

No, that one was released theatrically. Roger Ebert gave it a thumbs up.
