Because he became infatuated with a woman.  They'll do that, those damn women.

But seriously, I think the example holds a lot of truth.  It seems that a lot of people forget what it was like to be a child.  And if not forget, then lose touch with it.  Does it make sense that he forgot that it ever happened?  No.  Does it make sense that he can fly?  No.  Can you imagine that you are eating food and gain sustenance from it?  Yes.  I mean no.  But I still liked the movie.

if so they all borrowed from my avatar which is the john tenniel drawing from the original alice in wonderland, if you look at the tenniel youll see the jabbwocky also has a waist coat on.
