I was actually in Iraq, not as EOD (a bomb defuser), thank god.  The movie is incredibly realistic, especially with the "Can I shoot this guy for filiming us?" parts.

I was in Iraq and I didnt find it accurate at all.

Really?  There were some things, like people rolling out with just one truck, the main character doing essentially whatever the hell he wanted, Iraqi police having some sort of knowledge of what was going on, and the rolling up of ACU sleeves that weren't accurate, but the tone and feel of the movie overall was very realistic.
I like artificial grape flavor, but I hate real grapes.  A paradox!?

When ARE the Oscars anyway?

I'm hoping Up in the Air takes home some awards.  I particularly think it'd be interesting if that chick from Twilight got one.

Relaxing Dragon

They're on this Sunday. And it's interesting to hear from warofthebees on the matter on this. I'm always curious on the general 'accuracy' of these films, however unrealistic the main character was supposed to be.

Now thaty would prove that they are useless.  Does she do anything other then say um and have her mouth hanging open?  Last time i checked that wasn't acting that was just being a stupid female lead in a stupid movie(See twilight, transformers, and many more),Has she gotten a nom?  If so even that is a little worrying.

You haven't seen the movie.  It's a terrific movie and I can't wait for the DVD release.

I have seen the first one it plays all the time at the Wal Mart I used to work and and there was nothing worth noticing about the acting.

He's talking about Twilight, you are talking about Up In The Air.  It's easy to get those two movies confused.   ;D

And yeah, it would be funny in a weird sort of way to see someone from Twilight win an Academy Award (even if it is for something different.)  But then again, Forest Whitaker was in Battlefield Earth and won an Oscar for something else  (just to name one example).

I know.  I was being deliberately obtuse.  I wanted to see when someone would catch on.

We're likely talking about different actresses too.  Doc is referring to Kristen Stewart, and I'm talking about Anna Kendrick.

Oh.  Ok.

I thought you were saying that Kristen Stewart had gotten a nom for what she did in New Moon.  Sorry I got confused.

No he comes in after we all shout Norm! When the fat guy walks in and orders a beer.
