-Well that's a first, a prop committing suicide

That was one of my favorites.

Also, something to the effect of...

"What? Did a banshee drive a jeep into their house?"

distantdrain

Charles Starkweather had more stable girlfriends.

Rattrap007

loved the prop commits suicide joke as well as the line where he is standing there with his left hand out stretched and one of them makes that a certain part of his body in the shot will be getting a lot of use in the future... implying masturbation of course.

Hell yes, was gonna post this. My favorite bit, so freakin' hilarious, and so true. ;D

I was expecting a Ghost Busters joke in there, "bustin' makes me feel good". :D

Moe

my favorite bit is when they are at the attic entrance and she's saying don't go up there, don't go up there

Mike:  " Of course he's not.  He's going to do the one rational thing we can all agree that even a brain dead person would do in this situation.  Which is to immediately phone the police."

... " Or he's going to go get a ladder... "

I lost it at that point.

Yeah, that was stupid.

But a bigger problem I had, and this is why I hate POV camera movies because this is an inherent problem with the subgenre, all the times the camera was used when there's no way a person would actually use it.  Well, okay, let me put it this way, if your girlfriend has vanished from your bedroom in the middle of the night and isn't answering your calls, and you take the time and trouble to bring along your camera, you're a flatout socipath.  There were a half dozen cases of this in the movie, most commented on by Mike and Co.  It just doesn't work, and you see this in every one of these things.  Quarentine, Cloverfield, this one, the horror/fantasy TV shows that do an episode of this.  Unless it's a war movie and the camera guy is an embedded trained journalist, there's always going to be a point where the camera shouldn't be on.  And if it is, as I said, the cameraguy is a socipath and needs to be locked up.

The only way I think it could work as a genre is if they were helmet mounted cameras used by a bunch of explorers investigating a haunted ship or crashed alien vessel or something.  With more than one camera you have an in story reason to be able to edit back and forth.  And with it mounted it's not taking up one hand and the people can even forget it's on.  That could work.  Otherwise, I don't see how.

I agree.  It's a completely bizarre POV when the motivation is apparently someone glues the viewfinder to their eye by accident.  It's dizzying.  it's obnoxious.  it's a cheap way to shoot and it looks cheap.  even when Micha isn't looking through the camera (inexplicably) then he points it at himself (again inexplicably)

I can understand if the character had some strange occurrence happen and put up some security cams and would review that footage or something, but this handheld FPSPOV is bogus... i'm tired of it.

The prop committing suicide joke was classic, along with the "did a banshee just drive a jeep into their house" joke. I hosted a movie night event for this rifftrax last night, and the last joke had my friends in tears (along with me, too).
I'm all out of powdered toast!

I hope the ghost doesn't change all my bookmarks to icarly fanfic, again.
