I just got the first Batman movie on BD. I almost got Returns (the original movies stop there for me) but opted out. Still might grab it next time I run out... as ho-hum as those movies are, they represent a bit of my childhood that I remember quite fondly, so I feel that I owe it to myself to own nice-looking versions of them :)

Batman Rifftrax CONFIRMED.  :)
Droooool. After the other great riffs of Batman & Robin and Batman Forever, with the excellent iRiff of Batan Returns by Cinester Theater, an official, written by the Best Brains themselves Rifftrax would be such a great capstone on this series.

QuoteWilliams Interested in Riddler

Robin Williams told Empire magazine (via MusicRooms.net) that he would be interested in playing a role in Christopher Nolan's next Batman film, scheduled for a July 20, 2012 release.

Williams, who starred in Nolan's 2002 release Insomnia, said: "I would do Batman in a second, playing anyone, I'd play The Riddler in the next one, although it would be hard to top Heath as the villain and I'm a little hairy for tights... The Batman films have screwed me twice before: years ago they offered me The Joker and then gave it to Jack Nicholson, then they offered me The Riddler and gave it to Jim Carrey. I'd be like, 'OK, is this a real offer? If it is, then the answer's yes. Don't pump me again motherf**kers.'"

That would be awesome. The guy's a big comics buff, and if you saw Insomnia, you know Nolan can get him to restrain himself & be creepy as hell. This bodes very well if they decide to have the Riddler, especially if he's portrayed similarly to how he is in Arkham Asylum.

I would love to see Robin Williams play the Riddler now. Back when he was first offered the Joker, I think it would have been a bad idea. But now he can be BOTH manic and creepy villain, so it would be a great choice. That dichotomy of a manic, silly over the top villain as a ruse so that people don't take him seriously at first and then he gets REALLY nasty!

Agreed on all counts.  Especially the Arkham Asylum part.  I've said several times now THATS the Riddler I want to see now.

I would love to see a Catwoman cameo where she's robbing a jewelry store and she last all of three seconds in a fight with Batman. Because the Nolan Batman would have no problem punching a female criminal.

That would be funny

And yeah, Williams was really good in Insomnia

Course, a Nolan female criminal would probably be one tough bitch to take down, too...

Tripe is yelling "Talia" at the screen right now while reading that, hoping to all that is holy that the writers of this movie hear him.

Why? Because she's trained really well? Because she's fast? Because she's powerful? Batman is all of those things and more, which means any advantage she may have had are rendered moot and his advantage of size, strength and protective costume (because women's costumes in the comics are rarely protective) give him the advantage in a one-on-one hand to hand fight. Now a female character like Harley Quinn on the other hand who is more about being behind the scenes and planning, she would be awesome!

That describes the Catwoman from my comic book era as well - she was the brains and had brawn who worked for her.  She only became the "kitten with a whip" that physically fought when this "dark knight" phase started and Batman Begins carried on with it.

Embarrassed to say I haven't seen it yet but I've heard a lot of good things about Williams in One Hour Photo as well.  VERY creepy.

The great thing about him in One Hour Photo is the reveal at the end.  It doesn't come across as heavy handed or overly simplified.
I like artificial grape flavor, but I hate real grapes.  A paradox!?

You know it.  ;)

Especially since it would involve a nice dollop of feelings of betrayal on Bruce's part. :)

He also played a serial killer on Law and Order and was great in the role.
