"Shorts" file downloads do not complete

I am having an issue where I cannot download a complete file.  The file download completes as far as my browser is concerned (no errors), but the file is not complete.  I have tried different browsers, IE, Firefox, and Chrome.  Chrome seems to get the most of the files before "quitting."

I seem to have this issue with only the shorts files.  I have never had this issue downloading the RIFF or MP3 files.  I have tried all versions of the shorts files, WMV, MPG, etc. and they all just "quit" before the download completes.  I end up with a short that ends unexpectedly while viewing.

Would anyone out there have any suggestions?

Hmm, I think I started to reply to this thread at one point but never actually posted that reply.  Either that, or I replied to a similar comment in some other thread, in which case this will seem like a duplicate.  Apologies if that's the case.

A week or so ago I bought some riff track and tried to download it at home over my slow dial-up line.  I tried multiple times, and multiple times it "completed" much faster than I expected it would, and each time I did not actually get the whole file.  The transfer looked like it went okay, but the file on my computer was much smaller than it should have been, and the file could not be played.  And the file-size was different on the different attempts.

I went to work and downloaded the same file, and everything worked fine.  So if you have a relatively slow network link, then it might result in you getting truncated versions of whatever files you download.  (and I was downloading a audio-only riff track, so it wasn't some huge file like a VOD).
