Live Action Wave Motion

[Compound]

Hey, older folks. Remember the old Star Blazers TV shows? (Or for you obsessive Anime fans, Space Battleship Yamato.) Well, it seems that there's a live action version enroute. And no, it's not the proposed Disney version that used the Arizona in place of the Yamato. Take a look:

CGI looks okay. But it's a 2011 release, at least, for us Yanks.

Dear Lord, please don't let them foul this up.

Which is my own peculiar way of saying "YES!!!!"

You do not know how happy this makes certain people of a certain age.  I had kinda hoped for a live-action series remake -- heck, in a fit of fantastic overconfidence, I wrote a first season for it -- but this will do just fine.  Especially since it's the Japanese doing it, and honestly, I should trust them with the material more than Americans.

Um, okay, I'm done.  Any other comments?

Yeah, I was a pretty hardcore fan of that when I was a kid... and I don't think I even really "got" most of it.

I'm eagerly anticipating this.
