Besides, you would be amazed how many people over the years that I couldn't get to sit through a whole movie (MST3K, Film Crew, Rifftrax) but they LOVED the Shorts....couldn't get enough.

They didn't charge full price for half a product with the live show.  Mark my words since tthey got away with it with the shorts they are going to start splitting up the movies and still charge full price.  What's more the second half of  most movies will never see the light of day.

They didn't charge full price for half a product with the live show.  Mark my words since tthey got away with it with the shorts they are going to start splitting up the movies and still charge full price.  What's more the second half of  most movies will never see the light of day.

You realize the reason they were splitting shorts was because the shorts they were riffing were longer, right?  So they were charging for the same approximate amount of riffing.  The alternative was probably to charge more for the bigger files on those shorts.  If they did the same thing for a movie riff, it'd probably mean the movie was four hours long or something.  If they didn't do that with Titanic, when do you think they would?

I strongly doubt that they'll ever split up movie riffs that are not VOD, simply because people wouldn't put up with having to stop halfway through the movie and sync up the second half of the track.  I'm sure RiffTrax has no desire to scare away their less technically inclined customers.

I just hope that since they are not going to finish the TWO (out of what sixty?) shorts that have a part 1 with no part 2 that they just don't riff long shorts anymore. Or better yet why not edit the shorts down to a profitable length and just be done with it.
