I haven't read the book, but I know that if there is a movie made, it should have Bruce Campbell in it. The same could be said for any movie, really.

For shame.   >:(
While reading the book I actually envisioned Bruce Campbell as Jack.  As far as King Leo goes Eddie Griffin is a good option, but I was always thinking Snoop Dogg.

A younger Bruce Campbell would be great, but he's a bit long in the tooth now. I have trouble imagining some of the characters as anyone other than the real people they're obviously parodying - Prince and Jesse Ventura, especially. And in my mind, Bromstad is a horrifying combination of Garrison Keillor and Tom Clancy.  :scared:

I actually thought Gene Hackman would be great as Bromstad.

I need to reread Death Rat, but I recall picturing Reb Brown as Jack in some scenes. I don't remember why.

I could see that. Equal parts menacing and batshit crazy. I thought of somebody for Governor Herzog this morning and have since forgotten, dammit.

How about Wayne Brady as King Leo, since he has to sing and dance?

Sigourney Weaver as Sandi?

For King Leo, I always pictured Jack Black. Yeah, he's got the wrong amount of melanin but his usual movie persona seems like the right match for the purple one. Okay, Black may be saner than him, but it's pretty close.

Actually, that would be pretty damn funny to see Jack Black acting exactly like Prince.  :D
