Her people have not confirmed yet, but TMZ has stalkers all over the place, so they usually know it first.  Sad.

QuoteBrittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

Her drug problems were well known and publicized and in the past few years, more and more stories were coming out painting her as someone who was no longer truly in charge of her mental faculties.  But she was a cool actress who made some cool movies over the years and she was certainly too young to go.  RIP.

That's a shame. She did do some very good work. I thought she was especially good in Girl, Interrupted.

I had forgotten she was even in that until you mentioned it.  And yes, she was very good in that!  Clueless, as well.  Always thought she seemed like a pretty nice girl, and way too young to die at 32....   :(
I realize that I'm generalizing here, but as is often the case when I generalize, I don't care.

Maybe I am just too jaded, but I find kids dying, people dying in war sad.   Rich celebs dying of drug I find unfortunate.   I feel for their families, but jeez.

I don't believe that Bob, almost anyone dying is a sad thing.

I can see your point.  But the fact that she got into the drugs is part of the sadness.

Although, we still don't know absolutely that it was the drugs that did it.  She could have had that heart condition that took John Ritter for all we know at this point.

I guess I did not write very well what my brain was thinking.   It IS sad when someone who has never hurt anyone dies.   That is horrible.   I guess what I meant to say was I dont find this "tragic", just sad.

Wow.  That is sad.  5 or 6 years ago, I would have said she would become the next big thing, but perhaps her problems outside of acting kept her from really achieving that level of success.  RIP.

Just saw a report on CNN quoting the LA medical examiner that her death was due to natural causes.

Is there some way we can blame Eminem?

What would be UNnatural causes anyway? Terminated by a cyborg from the future?
