QuoteFor those who are surprised that fewer people showed up than for Plan 9, remember that there's another showing Thursday night. That might be more convenient for the people who weren't there Wednesday. Also, some might expect there to be less chance of technical glitches in the rerun.

True dat.

On the west coast here and we have the delay (anyway) eh!

Our theater seemed to be slightly less full than for Plan 9.  But still what I would call nearly full, and a loud raucous bunch at that.

The audio problems already noted must have been universal, since we had similar issues here with the sound mix being a bit off at the beginning making it hard to hear the guys.

I think I enjoyed Plan 9 a bit more than this.  While I thought it was really funny, I found the wall-to-wall shorts format a bit draining by the end.  I hope they go back to a short/feature format for the next one like Plan 9 (minus the musical guests - just riffing please).  Given the reaction the Twilight joke got  in the Christmas Dream short, I think think that Twilight as a Rifftrax Live would be a smash hit.

I hope you're right on this.  But personally, I gotta see the first live show any time these come up if it's at all possible.  Sure, glitches are possible but there's something about the thrill of knowing it's live that I love.  Purely psychological.

QuoteI liked this one way better because they just got right down to the riffing.  I too expected Weird Al to do one song and was surprised but not disappointed.  I came to watch riffing and I saw some excellent riffing.  I can always put in one of my many CD's or find the video on Youtube if I want to hear Weird Al.

You posted the post I came here to post.

Yea, that was the reason my sister could not make it. She was working, and we arn't getting the 2nd showing.

My friend and I went on Wednesday, because it was better for both of our schedules.  But if Thursday had fit better for our schedules, we would have gone Thursday instead.  With this event, everyone had advance notice that it would be shown on two different nights.  With the first event, all the advertising was for just the one showing, and then the replay was added after that first showing.

In my case, the theater I was in for Wednesday's showing was probably a sellout, and if it wasn't then it missed a sellout by not more than five seats.

Went to the show in Escondido, had a blast, then after the drive back to the bay area, I went to see the encore in San Jose at the AMC Cupertino - I was expecting my wife and I to be the only people in the theater, so I could gleefully go "Hey! That's the back of my head! That's the side of my head! I think that's the top of my hat!!" over and over again. Turns out that there were probably 80 people there to see it! Granted, this is kinda in the epicenter of Nerdville, but it was a nice surprise to sit in a mostly-full house for the encore, and catch all the jokes I laughed over the first time.

I got a few moments of "Hey, that's me!" from the side and back of my head, but my friend/co-iRiffer Doug, who posts here as giantpez was pretty clearly visible in the crowd shots. That settles it. I'm a-shavin' my head before the next live show I go to.

NO!  Dye your hair a color that stands out in the dark so we can all find you in the crowd!  I can turn to my date and say, "See Purple Head right there, behind the fat ass?  I once spoke to him on a message board!"

Hit Girl and Weird Al's Fatman? Sounds badass!

ShadowDog

At least as badass as the Drag Me To Hell spinoff, "Talky The Evil Goat."
