What an awful movie (spoiler alert).

Would it have killed them to have a happy ending?  I guess having happy endings is anathema to horror movies.

Ugh, I think a spoiler alert would have been nice there!

Sorry.  I just finished watching the movie and acted rashly because it pissed me off so much.

Fantastic movie, fantastic ending.

I agree. Although:

I think the ending works.  I did guess what was going to happen in regards to the button/coin thing, but as darkly comic as it is, I don't think a happy ending fits as well.

That's exactly what I thought would happen! (So in a way, I guess, it's good it didn't?)

Yeah I saw the ending coming from the second the envelopes spilled all over the floor.

Darkly comic?  All I saw was dark.  It seemed the same as every other horror movie.  A bunch of random supernatural shit happens, then the bad guys win.

Are you a horror movie fan at all?

No.  I hate horror movies.

Which pretty much sums up the reasoning of my post and why I'll never see eye to eye.

Yeah, and that's totally fine - but maybe that's why you also don't register this movie as... well, I don't really think it's a comedy, but it's totally a homage to horror films, and there's a lot of humour in it.

You're not wrong to not enjoy it, but you're not the demographic, and a lot of it is just not going to connect with you.

Are you referring to the dozen scenes of people vomiting stuff?

Actually, I should mention that I liked the Saw movies, though again, the constant tragic endings bothered me there too.  Saw 6 though, had a tremendous schadenfreude factor.
