You mean where you used Billy Joel as a supportive arguement?  :D

Anyone can go to that thread and see that I supplied much more evidence than just that....but evidently that's all you bothered to read.  Because your intellectual curiosity is as deep as a cookie sheet.

Thank you again for making my point.

When is this forum gonna get a damn blacklist / ignore function?

While I didn't think the new Trek movie was miles ahead or behind of the middling baseline set by 40 years of product... I can fully understand why some old-guard Trekkies hate the new movie... because it's not theirs... not part of their canon at all. That drives them fucking nuts. Somebody took what they loved, stripped it of some key components, threw the rest into a big dumpster and went about starting over. Was what they had all that great to begin with? doesn't matter really... Is this new direction that horrifically worse than what it's based on? doesn't matter really... It's just the fact that the franchise took their toys and moved to a different sandbox.

Yeah no kidding.  I want to be more active in the forum but there's about 3 posters that just totally ruin it for me.  Its better to just not post and not get involved than to let myself get upset over an internet forum.  How sad is that, right?

Seriously though Plastic Duck......"owned"?  What are you,13 years old?

Yeah, this was a hard truth I had to come to about The Phantom Menace. Star Wars was in the title of the movie, but that's where it stops being Star Wars.

I don't think it's sad, attitudes like his are part of the reason I left this place for a year, had too much negativity in my life without having people I don't know add to it.

Thank you again for suggesting people who disagree with you are stupid, it's very helpful in a 'forum'

I learned,  to paraphrase Caboose of Red vs. Blue, the future is very shiny.
And I'm worse than Hitler.

I learned that I can watch every season of House and still not recognize Jennifer Morrison when she does her hair differently.  :-\ Oops.

I learned the same thing.  I had to watch the extras before I recognized her.

I learned that the reason Romulus was destroyed and the reason Nero is originally pissed off is that the "unthinkable happened."  Someone seriously miscalculated the expansion of the dreaded supernova I guess.   Was  Janet Napolitano in charge of Romulan Homeland Security?
And I'm worse than Hitler.
