Doctor Who?

I don't know I am just so sick of sequels and remakes and I can't stand to see Pixar go down this road.

Don't get me wrong I hope it is good, but all these sequels do seem to indicate that Pixar is just become another sequel money factory for Disney and that is just sad if you ask me.

If it were any other company I'd be concerned. But it's Pixar, and they've already completed a trilogy that's among the best ever made (of any genre), so they can do sequels. Even their worst movie, Cars, is heads and tales better than most of the competition. Those guys have my utmost faith in whatever they do, as they actually care enough about what they're doing to not half-ass anything.

I liked Monsters Inc, but that seemed to tell a pretty complete story.  I have faith in Pixar, but I can't help wish they'd just move on --

AND A MAKE A FUCKING SEQUEL TO THE INCREDIBLES!

I disagree.  Monsters vs Aliens, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon are all better than Cars.

I meant the competition at the time (it's definitely better than Happy Feet and Monster House).

And even though I'm more lukewarm about The Incredibles than most (don't get me wrong, I like it, just not nearly as much as other Pixar movies), I'd definitely love a sequel for that one.

Monster House is better than Cars.  In fact, that's actually a really neat film.

But my point is that Pixar's competition are producing films as good as or better than some of their output now, and while Pixar should be above that kind of competition and forge ahead with the brave new stuff they've been doing over the past couple of years, Cars 2 and Monsters Inc 2 doesn't seem like a step in the direction I was hoping for them.

I guess I'm one of the few who didn't care for Monster House (the actual house itself was awesome, the rest just left me cold).

I do know what you mean, and with the cancellation of Newt (which is too bad, as I liked the idea of that one) they just seem to have sequels on the near horizon. But still, it's them, and the sequels will likely be good. And no matter what, at one movie a year, it'll just be a couple years before they bring out the original stuff again.

I've yet to be disappointed by Pixar...but the ending of Monster's Inc was perfect. Perfect, I say!
