I have not seen ANY cut of the movie as of yet -- I never saw it when it was in the theaters, on DVD, or rereleased in a Director's Cut.  If it was ever on TV, I haven't seen it there, either.

The DVD arrived in the mail on Saturday, but my son and I are awaiting the release of the RiffTrax on Thursday before we watch it.

I've never even read the comic book.

With that in mind, then, I'll say -- yes, they both suck.

gammer

NickE, I'm in the same boat as you. The only thing I know about this movie is that its "based" on a comic book and that Ben Affleck is in it and apparently it wasn't that good. In fact, I think I remember reading that Ben Affleck was embarrassed to be in it.

NickE

Gammer, I would like to take the opportunity here in this momentous post to mention that -- at long last -- I am now officially a Blue Beer Drinker.

If I wasn't too old to say it, I would have even added, "w00t!"

You think that's cool, wait until you hit 2000 posts, and then 2500, and then 3000!   ;D  8)

I don't think that there's any place -- whether cyberworld or blogosphere or meatworld -- where I have EVER said 2,000 different things, let alone 2,500 or 3,000.

No, a Blue Beer Drinker I am, and a Blue Beer Drinker I shall remain.  I will content myself to living vicariously through mrbasehart and Sharktopus and Kodiak and Pak and Tarantulas and other high-frequency posters.

I also live vicariously through Michael Douglas.

Glad to be a part of your vicariousness.

Just don't even THINK of making a move on Catherine Zeta.  She's mine.       And by "mine," I mean Michael's.

You can, however, make a move on gammer.

While I have not seen the director's cut of Daredevil, one can only assume that increased dosages of Benafleck could only make things worse.

PJD

I wouldn't say the directors cut makes the movie any more pausible at all, but is X-Men plausible??
I'm just saying it's better than the theatrical version, a little darker.

Now you wanna talk unplausible turds, the off shoot "Elektra" was really bad!

macleod

Yeah, Elektra...that one made "Meteor Man" look like a great super-hero film...

Add me to the bunch who liked Daredevil.  The comic fans among the Rifftrax crowd will always have to put up with the non-comic fans who will hoot at the conventional genre absurdities, but I think we've learned to let it slide when they take the easy joke about Spandex or super-powers.  Just open up those minds a little wider and enjoy the ride, folks.  Affleck also did a good job this year playing George Reeves in Hollywoodland.
If you want to see a much-more embarrassing take on Daredevil, find yourself a copy of The Trial of the Incredible Hulk from the period after the Hulk series ended but they kept the character going with made-for-tv movies with guest heroes.  Matt Murdock defended Banner in court until the inevitable Hulk-out.  Rex Smith (of Solid Gold fame if nothing else) played Daredevil in a costume with a mask that seemed more like a blindfold.

J-Proof

Too bad too, cuz Jennifer Garner is easily one of the hottest actresses out there. Tho as stated before, I would rate Evangeline Lily above her.....

Hmmm....
My list of hottest actresses:
1. Jessica Alba
2. Keira Knightly
3. Natalie Portman
4. Liv Tyler
5. Asia Argento
6. Kate Beckinsale
7. Evangeline Lily
8. Jennifer Garner
9. Zhiyi Zang
10. Elizabeth Hurley

And the absolute hottest model/acctress/media person ever is:
Anna Beatriz Barros
J to the Pizzo
P to the Jizzay...

ScottotD

Ben Affleck, the Tom Cruise of '04.

I didn't mind this movie but I think it could be a decent rifftrax since there's really no easy/weak jokes in there.
